Dress to Impress: What Does it Mean?

Dress to Impress is a requirement for some of our classier venues such as The Study Wine Bar, but what does that actually mean?

As we gear up for an evening of connections and conversations, dressing to impress plays a pivotal role in setting the tone. It's about striking the right balance between looking polished and feeling comfortable. Here’s how to ensure you’re perfectly attired for our event:

For the Gents:

  • Tops: Collared shirts, such as polos or casual button-downs, are ideal. A well-fitted, tucked-in V-neck T-shirt with a stylish necklace can also make a statement. Choose breathable fabrics to stay cool.

  • Bottoms: Opt for lightweight trousers or chinos. They offer a smart look while ensuring comfort.

  • Layers: Consider a lightweight blazer to add sophistication without the bulk.

  • Footwear: Smart casual shoes or loafers are the finishing touch. Make sure they're clean and in good condition.

  • What to Avoid: Shorts, sneakers, sandals, crocs, and any attire that is worn out or stained should be left at home. These items detract from the sophisticated atmosphere we aim to create.

For the Ladies:

  • Tops and Blouses: Choose elegant, comfortable tops or blouses. Pairing with a skirt or trousers creates a chic, balanced ensemble.

  • Skirts and Trousers: A flowy skirt or lightweight trousers are both stylish and comfortable. Select cuts that flatter and fabrics that breathe.

  • Dresses: A casual yet stylish dress is perfect for the occasion. Pick something that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

  • Accessories: Use accessories to express your unique style. Bold or minimalist, they can elevate your outfit.

  • What to Avoid: Similar to the men's guidelines, avoid overly casual footwear like flip-flops or overly worn shoes, and clothing that is worn out, or stained. You should also avoid anything too casual like sweatpants, or yoga pants. Aim for an outfit that feels put-together and reflects your best self.

Why It Matters:

Dressing well is not just about making a great first impression; it's about feeling confident and open to the evening's possibilities. It's an expression of your individuality and readiness to engage in meaningful connections.

Final Touches:

"Dress to Impress" means embracing an outfit that showcases your best self, ready to meet others in a setting where genuine connections are the focus. We encourage attire that is polished yet personal, ensuring you look and feel your best.

We look forward to seeing the stylish and thoughtful choices you make, setting the stage for an evening of sophistication, engaging conversations, and potential romance.
